Future Boxing’s mission is to create healthy, confident and successful kids, through the lessons learned in physical exercise/training and boxing.
Guns Down Hands Up
The discipline and confidence at the heart of boxing are also critical elements needed to combat the negative cycles kids are exposed to on the streets. Consistent long-term attendance keeps youth in a safe, positive and healthy environment during the critical “4:30pm – 7pm” period where unsupervised youth are more at-risk for experiencing violence.
Childhood Obesity
The Program’s engaging and demanding physical activities, directed by passionate and experienced trainers, directly addresses the increasing problem of childhood obesity in our community and meets it head-on. The Greater Rochester Health Foundation reported that “more than a third of Monroe County’s children and youth are at an unhealthy weight. In the City of Rochester, 40% of young people are at an unhealthy weight, putting them at risk for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure.”
Homework Center
Just as training is a critical component for success in the ring, homework is a critical component in the academic success of our children.
